Treatments Include...Relaxation Massage: This commonly practiced form of massage combines a variety of techniques that are focused on the body’s soft tissues assisting your body to release stress and tension. A minimum session of 60 minutes in length is recommended for maximum results. Deep Tissue: Deep tissue works through muscle tension layer by layer, reaching the deeper muscles where chronic pain and tension may be released. This type of work is usually slower than regular body work, allowing the soft tissues to open at deeper levels. Since deep work requires more time to release the tension in specialized areas, your treatment will not always encompass all areas of your body in one session. Pregnancy Massage: Massage is an ideal therapy for the expectant mother who needs to take time out to unwind. Massage helps you to relax, increase your energy, and relieve the discomforts you may be experiencing due to increased weight and ongoing hormonal changes. The caring touch of massage can help you experience your changing body in a positive, accepting way. To make her massage more comfortable, we use the bodyCushion, extra pillows, and semi-reclined and side-lying positions. If you are experiencing any complications during your pregnancy, we will need approval from your health care provider before proceeding with any bodywork. Reflexology*: Focuses on points of the hands and feet believed to correspond to each organ, gland and structure of the body. Reflex points are manipulated to reduce tension, improve blood supply and reestablish harmony among body functions. At Almost Heaven Massage Therapy, our therapists are licensed and members of one or more National Professional Massage Therapy and Bodywork Associations. They represent varieties of work experience and are knowledgeable and capable of helping you experience reduction in pain and stress and increase your sense of well being. First time clients arriving in our office will be asked to complete a Client Intake Form. It asks information about your health, medical history, occupation, hobbies and the expectations you have for your massage session. This information will help us customize a session to meet your needs. All information is held confidential. Destination Calls: One hour minimum of service is required to go on location. Services are available on a limited basis and for the area of Edgartown only. Fees are from $110.00 per person for a one-hour treatment. Chappaquiddick travel: Add another $30.00. For any destination service after 6:00PM, add $20.00.
